Charlotte Hotel: Boutique Hotel
I have never stayed here, but it seems ideally located in central Onancock. I do not know what they do about parking.
Their webpage says:
"When the present owners (Charlotte Heath & Gary Cochran) purchased the building, the two upstairs floors were serving as apartments and the downstairs was a vacant retail space. Today, there is a full service bar, intimate dining room, first floor lobby, and an art gallery in addition to eight well appointed guest rooms.
The magazine STYLE (smart living in Baltimore) has an interview with the couple "Walking in, Heath heard the building talking: “I should be a hotel,” it said. She didn’t know yet that it started life in 1907 as the White Hotel. “The next thing we knew, we bought it,” she says. Then, a contractor they hired to overhaul the building ditched the job, leaving the couple short on cash and a long way from the finish line... Cochran made most of the hotel’s furnishings himself. Heath, an artist, treated the whole building as a canvas, painting patterns and scenes straight onto floors and walls, and scrawling snippets of poetry down halls and around corners. The framed paintings on the walls are hers, too, and her work is featured in the just- opened Next Door Gallery located, yes, next door.
The Charlotte is a do-it-yourself affair, with an atmosphere as charming as it is unique. I said as much while chatting with Cochran at one point. He sipped from a glass of wine, then deflected the praise with a well-practiced one-liner: “All that happened, really, is I got a pile of money out of retirement, and now you’re standing in it.”

Charlotte Hotel & Restaurant: Bed and Breakfasts
I have never stayed here but have been given the grand tour of this lovely little hotel.
Privately owned and operated by Charlotte & Gary.
Featuring 8 simple yet elegant rooms each with bath en suite. The foyer evokes the spirit of continental travel. Just beyond there is a small bar, which just begs you to sit and have a martini. The restaurant within offers some of the finest cuisine in the area.
This hotel effortlessly mixes the charm of days gone by with the amenities we love in society today.
A bit more expensive than some others in the area but seems well worth it.
