I drove past an antique shop off of Route 95 (South of Richmond) exit 41. I was able to find the shop on google earth, but cannot find the name of the shop. It has lots of antique lamp posts that are viable off route 95. Google earth said it was on Crater Rd, in Petersburg, VA.
The antique shop is seen off of 95 at exit 41 on Crater Road. Google Earth puts it at 17094 south Crater Road.
I cannot make out the name on the shop in Google Earth. Building looks like a log cabin.
The intersection of Old and Market Streets has always been a centre of commerce in Petersburg. Here, tobacco, not cotton was king. In the 19th century, the cobblestone street was crowded with wagons. The big brick building at the west end of Old Street was once the Dunlop Tobacco Factory. In 1892 it employed over 700 people and produced more than 2 million pounds of tobacco a year. This example of 19th Century industry was converted into flats.
