We are going to be in Roanoke for a soccer tournament the first weekend of April. Two of the boys will be turning 16 years old. What things are there to do to celebrate? Any suggestions?
I used to live near Roanoke, unfortuneatly for 16 years old - - not much. I was 16 when I lived there. However, there is Mill Mountain Zoo at the top of the mountain there in Roanoke where you can also go hiking and if the weather is nice - a treat if you have never done it.
Visit the Roanoke City Market on a weekend. The City Market is host to many quaint shops, deli's, coffee shops and art galleries. Also the Farmer's Market is the best place to get fresh produce and great flowers for the home. Also don't miss the local artisans that put their cratfs on display each weekend on the market.
This place is great for a casual dinner or lunch when you want to escape those cookie cutter menus from the places at the malls- Great sandwiches with good service. They also have Karoake Wednesday nights and a decent patio crowd in the summer. I've liked every sub I've tried here
