Staunton has basically two seasons: summer which starts in late April and continues right through into October; and the rest of the year, which is a mix off cool weather, rain, sleet, snow and intermittent sunshine.
The long summer-like weather in the hill-lands is hot (with temperatures well into the nineties often) but is moderated by cool breezes from the shaded side of the hills. In these valleys, mornings begin when the sun rises over the east hill and day ends abruptly when the sun descends below the west hill. Summer showers from clouds that get snagged on the hills are welcome relief to the heat.

By Hallowen, you are into Fall-Winter which is a little cooler (especially in the evenings) and it gradually leads into snow and other forms of precipitation. In February, you slide into Winter-Spring with more rain than snow and eventually the new growth of wild flowers on the hillsides. By April, you know that summer is just around the corner.
