THERE ARE ABOUT 20 FROM PA. WHO STAY EVERY SPRING AND FALL AND THIS YEAR WE WERE QUITE DISAPPOINTED. OUR ROOM WAS NOT UP TO PAR AS BEFORE. THERE WERE COTTON BALLS OR FUZZ IN BALL SHAPES AND A SCREW DRIVER PART UNDER THE LOWER END OF BED AND THEY WERE TOLD TO CLEAN THE FLOOR AND THE NOTE WAS JUST TOSSED AND NOTHING SWEPT. THE DUST RUFFLE ON THE BED WAS DIRTY WITH STREAKS AND TORN AND THE RIGHT HALF WAS PULLED OVER ABOUT 6 TO 8 INCHES AND JUST BUNCHED UP ON THE FLOOR. THE REMOTE WAS MISSING AND DID NOT GET ONE TILL THE DAY BEFORE WE LEFT. JUST NOT A CLEAN ROOM AS WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD AT THE RAMADA IN STRABURG. ALSO THE HALLS SMELLED BADLY OF DOG. THERE WERE DOGS IN AND OUT. WHY IS IT NOT POSSIBLE TO HAVE AN AREA FOR DOGS AND HAVE IT DESIGNATED NOT TO CROSS THE AREA WHERE PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE OR HAVE ANIMALS. THE ROOMS CAN HAVE A DOG AND THEN WE COME IN AND IF WE HAVE ALLERGYS WE ARE SICK HALF THE TIME. WE PAY JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE AND NEED THE CLEAN ATMOSPHERE FOR THE PRICE WE PAY. IT WAS STINKY/MILDEWY/LIKE THERE WAS MOISTURE IN THE AIR NOT FILTERED. JUST NOT HAPPY WITH THIS VISIT AND IF NOT CORRECTED ALL OF OUR GROUP WILL GO ELSEWHERE IN THE FALL.
Unique Quality: STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND CARING. IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE RUN RAGGED BY CALLS, TAKING CARE OF CUSTOMERS, DEMANDS ETC. IT SEEMED LIKE SOME FRUSTRATIONS WERE SHOWING A LITTLE. THE OWNERS NEEDS MORE HELP IN THE DESK AREA. ALSO, WE DID NOT LEAVE A ROOM TIP BECAUSE OF THE ACCOMODATIONS....
I spent one night in the Strasburg Ramada Inn in August 2008. There were not too many guests, but the place is brand new. Located on Hupp's Hill, an historic Civil War battlefield that this hotel and the people of Virginia are bound to destroy, the hotel offers nice, large, clean rooms (although somebody forgot to place face cloths in the bathroom) and a decent breakfast. A Mexican restaurant is attached to one end of the hotel and there is an indoor pool in a gym about a 500 foot walk through the parking lot.
Unique Quality: Great views of Masnutten Mountain and the townhouse sprawl out the back of the hotel. Virginia is destroying its rural scenery by by building gigantic suburban enclaves in the country.
