after hours club

by jennib87

Is there an after hours club in va beach that is strictly for bartenders and members. It's suppose to be open until 6am? Anyway just curious and what is the name? thanks

Hey Jenni, I've not lived in the VB area for about 8 years, but there were a number of after hours bars scattered throughout the tidewater area. Your best bet would be to ask some of the local bartenders where they go after the bars close down. Most of those are open from midnight until 6-8 am.

There is one on General Booth called Shakespears and there is one on Military Highway called After Midnight, they both are open on Fri and Sat nights from 1am - 6am.

Travel Tips for Virginia Beach

Norfolk, Virginia Beach,...

by MrGQ

Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and Suffolk are known as Hampton Roads or south side. The cities -- Newport News and Hampton, that lie across the James River and over the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel are known as the north side or the peninsula.

"New" Cape Henry Lighthouse

by grandmaR

This is the 1881 replacement for the old Cape Henry lighthouse. It is NOT open to the public.

It was was built to replace the older light only 357 feet away. The old lighthouse is open to the public and is maintained by the APVA.

The New lighthouse is a 164-foot octagonal tower made up of cast iron plated inner and outer walls, with a masonry lining, making it the tallest such lighthouse in the U.S. It has a first-order Fresnel lens and is painted in black and white alternating vertical stripes. In 1923 the lantern was converted to electricity. The 1,000 watt light was automated in 1984 and has an intensity of 80,000 candlepower. Overlooking the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, its 20 second flashing light can be seen for only 15 miles out to sea because of the bright city lights.

From the south, take I 95-N to 58-E to I 64-W. Take Exit 282 (Northampton Blvd) and follow Rt. 13 for four (4) miles. take the last exit before the bay bridge tunnel and bear right onto Rt. 60 (Shore Drive) and travel about five (5) miles. Ft. Story is a left turn at the flashing red light. After passing the guard house, take the first left, then your first right. This gate may be closed, if it is continue approx. 3 miles to the first stop light and take a left. This will lead you to the main gate. Continue straight approx 2 miles and you will see the Cape Henry sign on the right. You must show a picture ID at the gate.

Great food

by tpangelinan about Black Angus 7th & Atlantic Ave.

This was a great fine dining experience, wonderful mode lighting and music. The waiter was prefect, left you alone, but there when you needed him. The meal was to die for, and the cost almost chokes you too, but well worth the price. Very cool inside, almost makes you feel like you went back in time to have a meal. They are celebrating 50 years with a wide variety of food on the menu. Got to try this place if you are there celebrating something. YUM!!

Good food with a view!

by tpangelinan about Rockfish Bar & Grill

This restaurant is located in the Boardwalk Resort Hotel & Villa, on the boardwalk of course, very good food, we had Sunday brunch. Wonderful buffet, wide spread with lots of goodies, seafood, raw & cooked, omlettes, waffles, all kinds of meats, deserts, danishes, complete. Had a table outside with a great view. The service was good for a buffet style meal, and quality food. Well worth the trip.

Virginia Beach Amusement Park

by tpangelinan

Virginia Beach Amusement Park is located on the boardwalk at 15th street, across the street from the pier. Lots of rides, games, slides, music, moonwalks, plenty of family fun for little ones up to adults. Grab a Virginia Beach Guide out of one of those boxes on the street I talked about in a general tip for saving money in this town. You will find a $5.00 coupon good for all the members in your party, am all day wristband.
