Tunnel

by chabab

Is there a way to go from VA BEACH to NORFOLK without using the tunnel?

RE: Tunnel

by bilbos0

you would only use the tunnel to go from Norfolk to Hampton. There is also a tunnel from Norfolk to Portmouth. Interstate 64 connets norfolk and Va. Beach. Also interstate 264 connects the two.

People here for the most part are very nice and courteous just watch out for the other drivers since there is a lot of out of state drivers due to military bases here. just watch out for yourself

Beachfront Far From The Maddening Crowd

by skierk8

For a fascinating outdoor family activity, or a chance to just get out in the open, drive south of Virginia Beach down the coast, through Sandbridge to the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. A wildlife enthusiast paradise. Wander the paths around large ponds teeming with indigenous fish and turtles. See wild ponies grazing around the education shack or flocks of migratory birds including swans. Walk the boardwalks through the marsh grasses to vistas of the backbay while spotting marsh birds and if your quiet, marsh mammals.

Head over to the beach and see what Virginia Beach looked like before the hotels and beach front houses were built. Expansive white sand edged with sea grasses and dunes. Watch where you walk – no not for dog doo-doo (dogs aren’t permitted), during the nesting season from early June through August, sea turtles lay their eggs in the coastal sands of Virginia Beach. Five of the seven species of sea turtles that exist in the world today occur off Virginia’s coast.

Interesting Dishes and Atmosphere

by miclev21 about Luna Maya

Interesting mix of American and Carib cuisine. Usually tastey dishes!!!!
Small and colorful gourmet Mexican restaurant that is run by two Bolivian sisters and features a menu where everything is made-from-scratch including the sangria and margaritas. They are open Monday through Saturday for dinner only; closed on Sundays All.

Zero Subs is the best subs in virginia beach area

by butterflykizzez04 about Zero Subs

Your sub will be dressed with fresh provolone cheese, lettuce & tomato, onions, spices, oil & vinegar. Hot and sweet peppers are available upon request. Subs from the grill not included.

These Subs are awesome. We eat here every trip to Virginia Beach. My entire family (brothers, sisters, mom, dad, etc.) love this restaurant. There are many locations throughout Virginia Beach. I usually get the Grinder served Hot and toasted. It comes fully loaded.
Noel enjoys the pizza sub and my niece Tiffany always gets a small cheese pizza which is more like a oversized personal pan pizza.

We love this restaurant.

Visit Norfolk

by Goner

Norfolk, Virginia is the home of the world's largest Navy base, has miles of sandy Chesapeake Bay beaches, a historic downtown district, a complex of waterfront shops and restaurants, a collection of cruise boats and ferries, and an excellent selection of museums. Norfolk is centered around the port of Hampton Roads, one of the largest, naturally deep, ice-free harbors in the world. You can see tugs, barges, sailboats, commercial vessels, and navy ships moving in and out of the port through the Elizabeth River.
Norfolk's downtown waterfront area is located right on the banks of the Elizabeth River. The Norfolk Waterside Marketplace, the centerpiece of the waterfront district, offers dining, shopping. Special events, such as the annual Norfolk Harborfest, are held next to Waterside, at the waterfront Town Point Park.
