A Bank in disguise!
by Yaqui
I liked the fact that most of the businesses take the time to blend in the buildings with the historical significance of the architecture. The Wachovia Bank, N.A on 306 South Henry Street caught my eye and I took a picture of it. I liked the little stars on the face of the building. It doesn't have any ATM here, but there are others nearby if you need cash.

Other Crafts

Re-Enactors at Jamestown demonstrate a variety of other local trades, crafts, and skills which were necessary in the new colony. Among them are cleaning clothes, forging tools, navigating on the rivers, baking, keeping records of all transactions, and governing the colony.
Wine of Williamsburg
by matcrazy1
Early colonists drank wine in Williamsburg, at the beginning imported from Europe (expensive), then local. Wine is produced in Williamsburg since the early colonial times in 17th century when the law ordered each settler to plant at least 10 vines for the purpose of making wine on his own land.
That's why I saw 7 local different kinds of wine in old-fashionable colonial M. Dubois Grocer in Colonial Williamsburg. They were produced by the Williamsburg Winery which I unfortunately didn't visit :-(.
Note: Carter's Grove to Close Temporarily
by deecat
I just read that Carter's Gove is to close for comprehensive facility, site and program assessment! The article said that the Colonial Williamsburg foundation will close its Carter's Grove property for two years beginning January 2, 2003 to conduct a comprehensive assisment of all facilities, grounds, and programs located on the 750-acre complex. So, that means that in 2005 (pretty close now), it should reopen.
A University Store and More!
by Sagespot about William and Mary Bookstore
This bookstore not only sells stuff for the college student, but also a variety of gifts to take back home with you.
Additionally, each time I go in there, they have a famous person signing books! Books and coffee mugs, along with all sorts of campus items, and stuff for dorms. Same as Barnes and Noble.
