WHO HAS THE BEST FLEX TICKET PRICES?
by fuzzybub
I have been searching for the best flex ticket prices for my stay
July 8-July 15. I found the 7-4-1 Flex Ticket: 7 Attractions for 1 Price! Unlimited admission during your stay to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country, Jamestown Settlement, Historic Jamestown, Yorktown Victory Center and Yorktown Battlefields for $162.20 at a website. Does anyone one know of this combination being offered cheaper or a variation. I have 4 and 5 year old boys and they wouldn't pay a thing. Thanks for any information.

I am also interested in the 7-4-1 Flex ticket (we're going the week before you) but do not need a hotel. Can I buy just the ticket through the gowilliamsburg site? It seems to want me to buy a package, including lodging.
Travel Tips for Williamsburg

Visit Busch Gardens - they have some of the most awesome rides. I want to say roller coasters but I'm not sure they're classified in that category but the highest one....I think it drops 12 stories and it even took my breath away....but was one of the smoothest rides I've ever experienced. Lots of photo opportunities! Really enjoyed the colonial village. We ate at the Kings Arms Tavern and although I didn't fully appreciate the food...the atmosphere was all that and a bowl of cherries. Actually the meal was good but it started out with peanut soup and I actually ate it.
Colonial Life
by acemj
Williamsburg offers a glimpse into Colonial life and the people you'll meet will be in costume and playing a role. There are trades people, historical interpreters and character interpreters that will make you feel welcome while educating you at the same time. I sure wouldn't want to trade places with them in the summer time. Those outfits must get hot!
Cellar bulkhead
by matcrazy1
Most of colonial houses have such small structures as on my picture added by the front wall. It is an entrance to cellars or better to say low basement. It is covered by the two-wing flap.
It wasn't comfortable to go to the cellars from outside especially in bad weather but upper classes had servants and slaves in colonial times. By the time the entrance served as a place to load the basement with stuff (food, wine, beer). The entrance to the basement was through the stairs inside the house.
College of William and Mary
by acemj
At the western end of Historic Williamsburg, just passed Merchant's Square, you'll find the entrance to the nation's second oldest university, the College of William & Mary. The only university that is older is Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The school was founded in 1693 by Royal Charter from King William III and Queen Mary II of Great Britain. William & Mary is one of the finest public universities in the States, but is relatively small in size with around 5,500 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students representing 47 states and 51 nations from around the world.
Shockingly Low Prices
by b1bob about Williamsburg Outlet Mall
Williamsburg Outlet Mall is a collection of 31 stores all under one roof that sell overstocked product of various clothing and accessory companies at between 20-70% off the original retail price. There are many outlet malls in the area, but this is the only enclosed outlet mall for many miles and kilometers. My favourite places to shop at this mall are not the clothing outlets, but Crafters Market and Always a Holiday are perfect for buying cheap but meaningful whatnots. Cosmetics, clothing for all shapes and sizes, shoes, jewelry, toys, and health food are for sale here. There is also a Hershey's Ice Cream Parlor to treat yourself and well-behaved kids whom you take shopping. Discounts are commonplace here. Many folks travel for hundreds of miles and kilometers for this kind of bargain. Sadly, outlet malls like these prosper at the expense of well-established local institutions such as Basketville and the Candle Factory.
