This hotel is advertised as Comfort Inn & Suites Near Union Station, however, it isn't - its actually nowhere near Union Station and is not centrally located at all. Its out of the city in a fairly unwelcoming industrial area. However, if you need to do Washington DC on a budget, its still a good choice if you are travelling with friends as taxis to the city centre are not overly expensive when shared with others.
The hotel itself is fairly standard fare for a Comfort Inn with slightly dated decor, standard rooms which, because of its location, are quite spacious and a standard breakfast buffet selection which includes tea, coffee, cereals, pastries and fruit juice.
Unique Quality: It has to be said, there's nothing really unique about this hotel - its a Comfort Inn, and predictably so. Its only redeeming quality is the price given that you are staying in the capital of the United States.
It does offer free, off-road parking if you're picking up a rental and staying here before moving on.
This is a budget chain hotel. The main claim to fame is value for money, and reliability.
We had a short wait on check-in while they found out which rooms were clean - check in is 4, but we were there about 2.30.
My room was huge (2 queen size beds) - clean and comfortable. You get free wifi, and that's great. Fridge (empty) and microwave in the room too. They have a small coffeemaker as well, and I love getting that fresh brewed 6am cup.
Breakfast is the same as the last Comfort Inn I stayed in. Making your own waffles is fun.
The big downside is that the main railway runs at the back of the building, and the busy New York Ave is at the front. Noisy even on 6th floor. Fortunately, I wake about the time the trains start and go to sleep as they finish.
$115 per night, including taxes & breakfast. I had a pile of laundry done - $47.50.
Unique Quality: Value for money.
Directions: Quite a way out of the centre, heading NE.
I haven't stayed here thank goodness. The hotel is on the news tonight as having blood on the walls, and insect and rodent infestations. They were talking about shutting it down.
It is apparently cheap.
