A bit run down

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 2, 2014

Sadly, the former glory of the George Town inn has not been retained. My husband stayed here 26 years ago and remembers expansive rooms and understated luxury. After renovations the rooms have been reduced and tacky pre-made bathroom modules installed. You could not swing a cat in them.

To get to the subway is a "longish" walk- about 15-20mins but it is through the shopping area which is interesting.

The staff were friendly and efficient.

Unique Quality: Some old world charm.

AWFUL, NOISY HOTEL

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on February 17, 2009

No parking upon arrival on a Friday afternoon, had to circle for a half hour to find some. Front desk staff incredibly slow, seemingly unhapy to be there. We were "upgraded" only the room was incredibly small, overlooked a parking lot, no bathtub. Their fitness center was laughable - one broken bike and one treadmill. The worst part, however, was the noise - the bars do not close until 3am and even from the 5th floor it was incredibly noisy until 2:59am. All of the neighbors were upset when I spoke with them the next day and the staff could have cared less, laughed at any complaints

Unique Quality: Stained rug.
