I have stayed at the Holiday Inn, Georgetown, many, many times and have always had success. The staff is polite. Once, while staying there, my room reeked of smoke. They relocated me immediately. Some of the rooms have great views of the Washington monument in the distance.
You're near Georgetown, but will probably need a car. A shuttle service is available, too. Note that the Metro does not run in the area.
They have an outdoor pool, gift shop, adequate dining facilities and a business center.
Unique Quality: Location is first and foremost. There's an outdoor pool, available in the summer months.
You might be able to get a discount if you have a child in one of the local colleges.
Directions: Georgetown (outskirts)
The Holiday Inn Georgetown is like most Holiday Inn hotels. You can expect a very nice room, nicely furnished, thoroughly cleaned, and well lit. I can't say this hotel stands out in terms of other Holiday Inn hotels we've been to, but the price was nice. I just wish we didn't have to pay for parking. Seems like most hotels do. It's greatest aspect is its proximity to Georgetown and the Vice President's House.
Unique Quality: Decent location. Ample parking (for a fee). Good restaurants in the area.
