Great Alternative to Downtown Seattle
Bremerton is a still somewhat unknown jewel in the Seattle area, but since it's just an hour ferry ride from Downtown, the condos and new shops going up indicate that the town will soon be full of commuting Seattlites.
The Hampton was recently built as part of Bremerton's beautiful harbor restoration project, which also included a shopping center, meeting room, upscale restaurant, and adjoining ferry terminal/transit center. It is by far the nicest hotel in town.
I've always been impressed by Hamptons, but this one is especially nice. The rooms are larger, most have excellent views (the harbor is usually visible and you can watch boats go by) and there is free wired internet access.
The down sides are the price (one of the most expensive in town, usually a little under $100/night) and garage parking is an extra $5. But they're worth it! Plus, you can walk over to the ferry (no other hotels are close enough for this) and, for $6.50, get a round-trip right into Downtown Seattle. The ferry is actually very enjoyable since you pass Bainbridge Island and get a great view coming into Seattle. Therefore, this may be a good alternative to the $150-200/night comparable places in Downtown Seattle.
Unique Quality: Next door to the Bremerton ferry terminal in the center of the quiet Downtown Bremerton. Close to restaurants and some nightlife. Heated pool. Good views from the room.
