Ten stars! The Harrison House Suites Bed and Breakfast was the perfect retreat during our visit to Friday Harbor. The room we stayed in was decorated with true antiques- and yet we had all the modern conveniences we could need. The room had internet and TV cable, pillow top mattresses, the softest sheets in the world and the towels were replaced as needed.
The kitchens were stocked (which was really great because it meant less shopping), we had everything we needed. The owners were incredibly helpful in preparing itineraries for us (whale watching, kayaking, etc) and the facility has kayaks and bikes for use by patrons. Off street parking was free- the list goes on and on.
Unique Quality: The Harrison House Suites overlooks beautiful Friday Harbor- the views abound from every angle. Another outstanding characteristic of the inn is that it is within easy walking distance of the town- a block and a half, at most. Everything was easily accessible-shopping, restaurants, activities-and the ferry lanes.
The suites had all the amenities of home- a private hot tub, full baths (replete with home made organic soaps and shampoos), fluffy bathrobes and PRIVACY!
The innkeepers at the Harrison House Suites were gourmet chefs- every breakfast was a four course affair with menus that changed every day. We ate so much food that we hardly ever had to eat lunch. My husband also had some dietary restrictions which were accommodated without a problem. Add to that the fresh, warm cookies that were served in our room every afternoon- well, it was the life of luxury.
Directions: One and one half blocks from the ferry terminal. Head up Harrison Street and it's the second building past B street.
