Campground at Illahee State Park: Close to Town, Amid the Dense Forest

I did not stay in Illahee State Park. However, this information is posted here to provide future reference.

There are only 23 tent spaces and two utility spaces in the campground. There are two shower facilities and four restrooms. The showers are operated by tokens, and you get three minutes of shower from each token. You must purchase the tokens from the campground host.

The tent spaces are suitable for RVs, but engine driven generators are prohibited during the quiet hours.

Located on Port Orchard Bay, the park offers a quiet neighborhood state park in which to spend the night.

Tent camp site areas include a gravel area that is designed to keep water away from the base of the tent. However, I suggest a decent pad or air matress as the gravel would be quite uncomfortable thorugh your sleeping bag on the tent floor.

Picnic tables and fire pits are also part of each camp site. However, in position and size each camp site has its own unique shape. I suggest getting as far from the road as possible - that is, the lower number camp sites.

Camp sites are first come first served or by reservation. During the off season there is a reasonable chance of getting sites here without a reservation.

You must register at the self-pay station.
If you have a pay stub from a camp site, then you do not need a day pass.
