where they used to hide the Germans

    by

The Old Consulate Inn is a typical Port Townsend Bed & Breakfast. Housed in an 1889 red brick Victorian originally used as the German Consulate, it no longer houses German sailors awaiting safe passage home.

Unique Quality: Their website offers views and descriptions of their eight rooms ranging from $100 to $200 depending on amenities, size, and of course, season. Breakfast, tea, and evening cordials/desserts are included.

Directions: Washington Street is one street very much uphill Water Street. The Red Victorian on the hill can be seen as you drive into town.
