Great hotel, great service!

The Grand Hyatt Seattle is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, from the doorbells to the electric drapes, to the great service, all 5 stars. I really like the wood and natural tones, defiantly worth the money. The 721 Pine Restaurant is good, a little pricey, but still good. The views of the city and Puget Sound are amazing. The Grand Hyatt Seattle is a hotel I would recommend to anyone!
i must inform all of you

i was looking online for rates and came across this for the grand hyatt seattle... for those of you who stated you did not recieve the room type you book, remember, when you book a room, your just booking the Room Itself. requests such as kings/double beds, smoking/non, views/no view, high floor/low floor are all considered requests. each hotel books a certain number of kings/doubles, smoking/non smoking, and they usually get what hospitality employees call no-shows where guests don't show up for their reservation and bother not to cancel. i work for a much smaller hotel, but it is an upscale one as opposed to luxury. we have about 7-15 no shows a night, but there are times when there are not any no-shows which occur. guests also extend their reservations which may put you out of your request. to have a better chance of getting your roomtype requested, book directly through the hotel, this way they are able to adjust rates, more likely to upgrade, and offer you extra amenities because you are paying the hotel directly and not going through a third party which takes more than 15%-20% off the original rate, and the agents only see a rate of a fraction of what they're other guests are paying. remember to always go into the hotel thinking you're getting the room type you had no requested and speak with the front of the house staff in a calm effective manner. these associates are people too, and the more respect you treat them with, the more likely you are to get exactly what you want and possibly more, as the agents at the seattle grand did for me, i recieved breakfast, because i was kind, understanding and paid a hotel set rate instead of a company that takes a bit off the top
Pretty damn nice

We stayed here in Oct. 2003. It is a gorgeous hotel. The bathrooms are HUGE and VERY clean. All made of granite/marble and very modern. The room itself was very serene, except for one problem. There is a huge gap under the door and the doors are made of very heavy wood on a hinge. This means that every time someone down the hall leaves the room, the door slams really loud, and you can hear it in your own room because of that stupid gap under your door. We would always place towels under the gap to try to muffle the sound--it only helped a little. Needless to say, we were kept awake at night by this. Other than that, the location of the hotel is excellent. Lots of great shopping close by. Also, the fitness center is sublime.
Wonderful - Super-comfy bed & luxurious bathroom!

Stayed at the Grand Hyatt from Thursday June 3rd through Sunday June 6th. Minor problem was addressed quickly and cheerfully: the first room they assigned me smelled a little stale as though someone had smoked there (even though it was a non-smoking room), but they promptly me to the room next door which was fine. The room was large and elegantly appointed, in a power-business decor sort of way -- not really my taste, but more than made up for by the bed and the bathroom! The king-sized bed was INCREDIBLY comfortable! Plushy, feathery, delightful! And the bathroom is an experience in of itself. Huge soaking tub with great waterfall fixtures, large separate glass-enclosed shower, granite countertop on the sink. I think the bathroom alone was as large as some New York studio apartments! The minibar is packed with expensive goodies which you cannot remove or you'll be charged, but you can request an additional refrigerator (at no charge) if you want to store your own beverages or food. (I had leftover desert from the Cheesecake Factory next door which I ate over three nights!) The staff is friendly and helpful, the location is excellent. HIGHLY recommended. By the way, I got a great rate through LuxuryLink, and I think Hotwire gets this hotel sometimes as well.
Beautiful Rooms

We booked a standard room for a Saturday night get away, and were very pleased. The common areas and rooms are extremely attractive, with beautiful combinations of wood and stone. The large bath was well designed and executed, with both a soaking tub and glass enclosed shower. Nice subtle fabrics all around. Clean design, well maintained. We didn't put great demands on the staff, but the desk clerks were friendly, and room service was prompt and pleasant. For a special treat, we would stay here again in a flash.
very nice, but...

Great hotel, and great location. All of the staff was very friendly and easy to work with, from parking on through to the concierge.
Rooms are modern and have all the amenities (got to love the automatic shades), but are missing some small items (cotton swabs, etc.) found in other hotels of this price.
The health club is small, but nice (each machine has its own tv). Only thing missing there is a pool.
The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star rating is the bed. My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights, and did not sleep soundly either night. The room was quiet enough, but the mattress was not 'just right'...
Overall a good experience, but would probably choose another hotel in the same price range for next visit.
Excellent rooms...

Stayed at the Hyatt in October 2004. They have some of the nicest rooms we have stayed in anywhere. Also an absolutely fantastic exercise room and spa. We were only there for one night and so we didn't get to interact much with the staff. The only problem we had was check out. We were planning on leaving Saturday morning at 9:00am...we had a 10:45 plane to catch...check out took almost 45 minutes because of the poor valet parking situation. It took over 30 minutes for them to retrieve our car. This is way too nice of a hotel for something like this to happen.
