Great Location for a B&B

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 28, 2004

We stayed an entire week at this great B&B. Centrally located to Pike Place Market and the waterfront, this place was about $110 a night, plus, they didn't charge the 15% hotel tax. If you stay more than 7 nights, as we did, they'll give you a 10% discount. They don't give any other discounts than that though. Nancy, the owner, has been running the place for 13 years. Her son helps out and Mojo, the black poodle is a friendly host too. 12 guest rooms are decorated with antiques, there are 4 bathrooms, and there is a huge living room with sofas. I would stay there again. It was a nice place and the people were very laid back.

Directions: Only a few blocks from Pike Place Market, the nearest cross street is Virginia.

We stayed here while in town for a wedding. Although the location and views were great, we found the Pensionne Nichols to be dirty and shabby. The shared bathroom was gross! In addition, there was no one at the desk during our 20 hour stay. The rooms were very warm in summer with no air conditioning. I have traveled all over the world and can only think of one other hotel that was this bad. A hostel would be much better.
