Pick up the free yellow Travel Coupon Guide at the information desk near the south exit of the baggage claim area. Page 39 has an assortment of nice hotels priced under $60 including Marriott Courtyard*, Sutton Suites, Best Western, and La Quinta Inn. All four of those have free airport shuttles.
(* The Marriott Courtyard coupon is only valid Thursday through Sunday.)

The last time I was in Seattle I found a nice place with a lot of amenities by the name of Town & Country. It seemed more like a condo because it had a bedroom, a kitchen, and a living room area. They also have washer/dryer facilities on site. It wasn't very far from the airport, and it was cheaper than the other hotels nearby that did offer shuttle services. We also found that by taking a cab to the airport & staying at this place we saved money over staying in the more expensive hotels that offered shuttle services. Good luck & have a nice trip!

Try the Marriott Airport hotel. As you come out of the airport, you can see the red sign glowing on the hill east of the airport (across Pacific Highway). It may be more $$ than you are looking for (around $100/night), but it's a great hotel with one of the best atriums around.
Travel Tips for Seattle
BRING AN UMBRELLA
by zuriga
Seattle often has sunshine as my photos prove! I love the Pike St. Market and can wander the streets around in for hours. I think all tourists come here and usually stay downtown. But drive out to the suburbs if you can and enjoy the beautiful mountains and scenery.
My unfavorite and favorite memory is the earthquake of February, 2001. This was scary.. sorry I have no photos.
go to the Pikes Place Market. ...

go to the Pikes Place Market. A trip to Seattle without going here would be incomplete. A bit touristy, but I recommend getting a cup of coffee (you can find one anywhere) and going to the market early in the morning to see the local fish markets sell there fare. (Note: Don't be alarmed if you suddenly find a salmon hurling at wharp speed towards your mug. It's all part of the charm that makes the Market unique.) seeing some of the local bands jam at the many clubs located throughout the city. You can see everything from grunge rock to jazz to killer rasta tunes.
Pike Place Market Parking
by joiwatani
If you are heading to the Pike Place Market by a car, make sure to go early to get the Early Bird Special on parking fees. It cost only $6.00 per day. Otherwise, the parking fee is astronomical!
The parking that has early bird special in Pike Place Market is located at the junction of Pike Place and Alaskan Way. I love Seattle because it is very close to the ocean, close to the mountains, close to everything. Also, I love it's cultural and multi-ethnic diversity.
Seattle has the best school system, great police forces for security and safety reasons, great restaurants, great neighborhood and many more to mention. It is not that big of a city. It is just about right.
The best places to tote your laptop

Looking for a place to work? Yup, me too, and we are not alone. I have scoured cafes in Seattle and all of it's neighborhoods looking for multi-faceted vistas to complete my online projects. So if you want truly authentic Seattle coffee, good food, interesting atmosphere, good music, a peaceful place to work with reliable and fast wi-fi... try the following places. And trust me, I am a local expert who is always in search of the best-dressed place for my business endeavors... ... and leave your cell phone turned off, the best places issue a no blabbing rule.

Services Tax
by Rumi-fan
The services tax is not included in the displayed price of anything. I went to purchase a pair of shoes advertised at $39.95 but was charged $44.00 when tax was added. I found it really frustrating and wish USA would add the tax into the displayed price.
