Avoid the Westin!

Well, I would certainly NOT recommend the Westin. Very disappointing and not all that clean, either. Rather, a smaller hotel would be better, really. Hotel Max is a good choice: gives the flavor of Seattle,is clean and well located. Besides, the restaurant there is excellent and the service is impressive The Red Lion is located centrally and is well run,but a larger hotel. (this hotel is the fave of many people I know) After trial and error, I always choose these. There are various theatres in the downtown core and the Benaroya Hall,of course, often has tempting line-ups. Seems like Capitol Hill would be better suited for hipsters looking for a scene at night...better for your parents to google events...or, maybe they would like the Can Can Club...it is walkable from downtown and kinda fun.

Unique Quality: The Hotel Max has interesting art and an excellent restaurant too. The Red Lion has consistently good service, clean rooms and has the best location. The Westin has been a disappointment: unclean rooms, inept service and , even, on one occasion there were pills on the floor....they allow pets in the rooms,so if your pet had ingested these...yikes. And, if you are allergic to pets...best not to rent a room here. Also, the location is not all that great.
Try the smaller hotels...or the Red Lion if you want to be certain of consistent service and great location.

Great location

How can you beat a great view, great beddings, and just steps from public transportation and shopping? The place is a bit pricey but and the bathrooms need a bit of updating but the floor to ceiling windows offered views that made it all acceptable.

Luxury hotel

First time here and I was impressed. The concierge was great - I had a hip problem that made life miserable and the concierge was able to get me a great masseuse the next day.

Spoil yourself in this PLUSH hotel

Well, I definitely wasn't disappointed! Located right in the heart of the city. Didn't need a rental car, we walked everywhere and it was convenient. A block away from taking the monorail to the Space Needle. The rooms were extremely comfortable providing their so-called "Heavenly" beds which would swallowed you up as you lay down on them. The "Heavenly" robes were thick and comfortable. We had a view of the waterfront. We dined at the hotel's restaurant one night - the food was wonderful!

Unique Quality: Hotel has an indoor heated swimming pool and hot tub and small excercise room. Very nice accomodations. I believe this hotel has a 4 diamond/star ranking. I booked the hotel through AAA - as I am a member.

Excellent Puget Sound & City Views from the Towers

Right in the middle of downtown with both north and south wings that tower (almost 50 stories) over the city, Elliott Bay, and are (the north tower) right next to the Space Needle the Westin is a little about the downtown location, but almost all about the view.

Typical full service luxury Westin-style amenities. I started staying here some 14 years ago and though its restaurants come & go, the quality of the place remains pretty constant.

Unique Quality: Location, the lobby & bar plus whatever is the latest restaurant holding court off the lobby (this last time around it was Coldwater Bar&Grill which was a decent high-end restaurant).

Walking distance to everything from Belltown to downtown. And if you like good jazz don't forget Dimitriou's Jazz Alley, - one of the best jazz venues in the US - is just one block down Sixth Ave from the hotel.

But the view is what it is really all about. And the trick is getting the right rooms.

My recommendations:

South Tower / City View:
Rooms 2961 or 2962.
Stay on the 29th or a higher floor in the South Tower and get a # '61 or # '62 room.

or

North Tower (the best bay / sound and Space Needle view):

rooms 4330, 4430, 4530..
in other words, get a high-floor '30 room in the North tower. Sunset over the Olympic range and Puget Sound will knock you out, and the bay / sound & Space Needle view at night is the best.
Lots of the pics on these pages were taken from 4430 North Tower.

Not cheap but worth it.
Next to the Edgewater, the Westin is my favorite Seattle business-travel hotel.

A unique feature of the Westin:
when a stiff gale is blowing in hard from the west off Puget Sound, the North tower "groans" (the windows) and actually sways & rocks ever so slightly. You can feel and hear it on the high floors (43 & up).

Best view of Seattle's Space Needle!

One of the things that defines Seattle to the visitor or long time resident is the famous Space Needle that sticks out of the skyline. I enjoyed a wonderful view of this landmark from my 30th floor hotel room at the Westin Seattle. The room itself was very plain, had all of the amenities I needed, but the view was worth every dollar spent!

Don’t let the bad reviews stop you from booking here! The Westin Seattle is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at!

Now I know it doesn’t have top floor pool like the Sheraton, but it makes it up with:

Newly renovated lobby

Seattle Convention Center

by janicelovestogo

I will be traveling to Seattle in the winter for a convention. I want to stay in a nice hotel with a large room thats witihin walking distance of the Washington State Convention Center. I can also consider the Westin Seattle because there is a shuttle that will run from that hotel. I wanted a room with a microwave and refrigerator if at all possible.

Depends on what your budget is.

There is:

1. W hotel
2. Monaco Hotel
3. 4 seasons hotel
4. Marriott hotel

etc etc etc

Go to 180096hotels.com. Seattle downtown in pretty pedestrian friendly. The downtown buses are also FREE so no need to worry about shuttle buses.

We attended a convention in Seattle in October and stayed at the summerfield suites which is only 2 blocks from the convention center. Very nice with a nice kitchen. We stayed for 10 days.
