This is up to you, however in the northwest we like to pack light, minimal load full of maximum function. WINTER, FALL: Rain gear, Umbrella, pants, sweaters (not to burly), stick with tennis shoes or other protective foot gear, in sandals you'll be wet and cold.
SPRING: Yuu can lighten the heaviness of the clothes but be prepared for rain. Umbrella.
SUMMER:Sun and more sun, shorts, tanks, sunglasses and sandals. Dont forget your toothbrush. If its summer better bring sunscreen. Allow for no sun in the rainy season fall - spring. I would avoid camping anytime but Summer or youll be cold and wet most of the time. Atleast check to forecast and make sure the clear skies will hold up. Always check the forecast our weather is sun one minute rain the next!

First of all - thanks Dad for the information!
I didn't think there was too much to see in Vancouver since I have been there loads of times and haven't really seen it with a tourist's eyes. Good old Dad came up with loads of information to add to this page and I will hopefully have some photos to show in December when we return from our trip.
Dad says:
Vancouver is:
at the head of the deep water navigation channel on the Columbia River!
the oldest city in the state! (Founded in 1824 by Hudson's Bay Company as FORT VANCOUVER!
During the 1860's, Vancouver prospered from the gold rushes to eastern Washington and Idaho.
Kaiser Shipyard built 100 vessels for WWII here.
This is a view of the old army barracks near Fort Vancouver from Officer's Row.
