HIKEING THROUGH THE PARK UP THE HILL TO THE HIDDEN PASSAGE TO THE CASTLE..FOR A CHILD IT IS LIKE FINDING A HIDDEN TRAIL TO A FORTRESS..HOWEVER FOR A ADULT IT IS A PATH TO A OLD HOUSE THAT IS BUILT AS A REPLICA OF A CASTLE..MUST WE GROW UP? BATHING IN THE RUN IN THE PARK THE WARM WATER WAS SO RELAXING AS A CHILD..AS A ADULT WATCHING THE CHILDREN IN THE SUMMER WADE IN THE WARM MINERAL SPRINGS REMINDS US OF WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE A CHILD...IF WE COULD ONLY GO BACK.... AS A CHILD WADEING IN THE MINERAL SPRINGS IN THE PARK...PLAYING WITH ALL MY CHILDHOOD FRIENDS AND NOW HUSBAND...I COULD HAVE NEVER IMAGINED...ALSO PLAYING IN THE WOODS BEHIND THE PARK AND FINDING THE PASSAGE TO THE CASTLE. OH HOW I PRETENDED I WAS A PRINCESS TRYING TO GET BACK HOME...IT IS STILL THERE...

This a great little historic town about 3 hours from the Baltimore or Washington DC metro areas. There is a small downtown area, with an incredible amount of antique stores!! There are also natural springs here, you can fill up your jugs with the spring water.berkeleysprings.comWe go camping near here about two times a year. There are beautiful trails to ride a horse on!
