Blackwater Lodge: Retro Lodge Amidst Natural Splendor
The Lodge is very well organized for groups. My buddies and I arrived in various states of disrepair, and were quickly whisked to our rooms. The Lodge is a tad musty, but it is enjoyably "old modern" in a Truman / Eisenhower way. A recent addition containing a convention hall is less attractive than the rest.
The buffet dinner was rather ordinaire, but the canyon view from the dining room and half of the rooms is spectacular.
The Lodge is run by the State of West Virginia, and the following day an enthustastic ranger gave us an excellent bus tour with two well judged stops.
Cabins are available year round. No doubt the families who use them look like they stepped out of a Norman Rockwell illustration. As you can see in other users' pages, this is a popular place in the dead of Winter.

The Lodge at Blackwater Falls State Park: Rest, recreation, and dining
The lodge contains a great room, recreation room, pool, conference center, gift shop, and restaurant.
Unique Quality: Great recreation room -- terrific for making puzzles or playing games.

The Lodge: Quiet winter get-away near Canaan Valley
Wonderful lodge in one of West Virginia's most beautiful state parks.
Unique Quality: The Lodge has an indoor pool, restaurant, game room, reading/television room, and conference facilities. The Lodge is near miles of hiking and cross-country skiing trails.
