Okay place in Charleston
We stayed there a few years ago and it was great but it has gone downhill since then. The breakfast the first day was okay but the next day it was wierd -- oatmeal pancakes with raisins and pecans and a tastless sausage -- for the money they charged we should have got something better than what seemed like experimental food. The last day's breakfast was decent, standard, breakfast fare. Our bedroom was like a scene from a horror movie -- on the top of the wardobe there was doll in a wedding dress that looked like the bride of Chuckie and in the glow of the street lamps shining through the window, the doll had a halo of ghostly light above its head. Though I am not faint of heart, sleeping in this room made me queasy. The shower was designed for a much shorter person that I am - 5 11". I had to squat a little to wash my hair. It was slightly umcufortable for my hieght -- any one taller would have a hard time in this shower.
Unique Quality: The common area and the dining room are wood panelled and furnished with care. Everything is spotless and bottled water is available and in the afternoon, fruit, cold cuts and cheesplate are available. There are a few decent restaurants within walking distance.
