We just got back from gladesprings on our annual golf trip we have a group of 16 guys and we go somewhere different every year, well that has ended we have found a home.this place has everything 2 outstanding golf courses good food and our lodging was perfect. We stayed in the manor house which is like 4 hotel rooms on each floor with a common area with kitchen and living area great setup for a golf group. The resort has everything you need, but the thing that makes it is the people, they are the nicest people in the world, they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We cannot wait to go back next year..
Nice Family Stay

I stayed at Glade Springs recently for a family event. We stayed in the "Presidents" area and had a great time. The Living room area in each suite was large enough to fit most of our family, and we also had fun out on the patio area. Some aspects of the facility show a bit of wear and tear, but it is clear that a fair amount of effort is going into refurbishing it and most of it was very nice, especially the outdoor pool area. The "Small Talk" Cafe was a nice option for a Latte in the morning. We really appreciated the free Wi Fi all over the property! This hotel is conveniently located near excellent mountain biking and white water rafting opportunities. Some other reviews complain that this "isn't the Homestead or Greenbrier", which is true, it does not have that kind of luxury or impeccable attention to detail. However, it also costs a lot less and still is quite lovely and convenient, and very casual and relaxed.
A Great Place to Visit or The Last Resort?

In response to a request from a land development company for my presence in Daniels and their generous offer to pay for my stay at the resort I booked a 4 day 3 night stay for my husband, my 17 year old son and myself. When booking into a room anytime, anywhere I always feel confused by desk clerks who hand me a key and expect me to find my own way to a room I've never seen before. Although she did tell me to turn left out of the parking lot, and I did try to go over the directions with her, I still got lost getting to the "Jackson" building. At 8:30 PM in the dark it 's pretty easy to do that. I would have appreciated a description of what the building looked like or at least a gesture to explain the right direction.
The "Jackson" is one building among a group of several with presidential names called "executive suites". These are fairly old and have obviously been renovated. Improvements in the three room suite included granite bathroom counter top, sliding glass door in closet, fresh carpet, drapes and bed spread. Unfortunately the king bed failed the wine glass test. Every movement was amplified across the width of the bed. The pillows were like dead weights.
This suite also featured a refrigerator or a cabinet locked with a plastic tie that we would have needed a scissor or knife to cut if we wanted to purchase an overpriced snack that was inside. The resort amenities:bonfire, boating, horseback riding, several restaurants , swimming, bowling, tennis, gym, basketball, movies seemed a bit expensive. I just can't get into the mood to spend $8.00 for a hotdog or $25. to watch a bonfire.
In the afternoon before the 3rd night of our scheduled stay the front desk left two messages that they had expected us to leave after the 2nd night and we could expect to pay for our 3rd night. I called the front desk, after I'd returned to the suite for the evening, to resolve the misunderstanding- as I did have the original invitation outlining the 3 day stay with me - but I was told by the afternoon clerk that she had already folowed up with the land development company and we were supposed to have already left!
The following day at 6AM before checking out I was prepared to show the paperwork to the morning clerk who told me she knew nothing about the charge for the extra night.
So the telephone messages that had been a source of disturbance to us along with the room keys that had failed to unlock our door when we returned to our suite the day before combined to make us uncomfortable about the possibility of receiving a larger bill than expected- for nothing. I don't even know if the telephone calls to the room were accidentally left. Perhaps it was supposed to be sent to someone in another suite.
Aren't resorts supposed to relax, not aggravate?
The lack of professionalism of a front desk person at the beginning as well as at the end of our stay at Glade Springs set the tone of the experience. If we had paid for those three nights I would definitely be more annoyed.
