Skiing West Virginia
Canaan Valley Resort is a 4-season resort and conference center tucked inside the scenic Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia. Canaan Valley provides a mountain playground on 6,000 acres of natural park land. If adventure is what you're looking for, bring the kids to ski, snowboard, snow tube, or ice skate. Try hiking on 18 miles of trails, swimming, tennis, golf, hayrides, nature walks, Eurobungy or shoot a round of paintball.
Unique Quality: The last time I stayed at Canaan Valley, I went with 15 of my closest friends. We rented cabins, like the one in the pictures at a wonderful rate. The cabins are located about 2 miles from the Ski Slopes, and calling the front desk to have the courtesy shuttle take you over counldn't be easier.
4 Bedroom cabins run about $200 per night, which is a great deal if you split it with a coulple close friends/couples. The cabins have full kitchens, complete with dishwashers, a working fireplace, 2 full baths, and a deck facing the woods.
The deer on the property are, for the most part, domesticated. The will walk up close enough to pet, or to even feed (Feeding the deer is against the law, and you will face high fines if caught)
