Clarion Hotel Morgan: Nice place to retire

Great stay, comfy room. Sometimes I think it needs up dating, but then a old historic place shouldn't moderize as well. enjoy my stay there for a wedding of a WVU alumni. It is on a main street so it was easy to find and the only one in historic downtown , Morgantown, WV.

Location was the best part as if we drank too much, the hotel was just down the road. As other revelers from college town spill out into the street after closing, I am sure glad to walk home after I see the ballroom brawls that just happens for no reason while walking home. Even saw girls get smack in the face and men of honor comes to the rescue. Looks like a flash mob to me

ECONOLODGE: MOTEL IN BECKLEY WV

As it was getting close to stopping for the day, I checked my Motel Discount Coupon Book and decided to stay overnight in Beckley, West Virginia. We chose the ECONOLODGE as it had the amenities we wanted - mainly free high speed internet for Hansi.
The coupon price was $49.95 plus tax.
Amenities included:

Babcock State Park: WV Cabins

Babcock means family getaway to me. We've stayed in the cabins many times. We have always been in the rustic cabin because we have more fun that way, but there are cabins with more amenities. Showers, cooking, fire rings. Nice dining table indoors and chairs outdoors for long evenings by the fire. Even had a front porch. Beautiful setting under the tall old growth trees. Easy access to bike and hiking trails, Canoeing, fishing, white water rafting, horseback riding and trails.

Rustic. Natural. Lots of character and recreation. Beautiful setting under the tall old growth trees. Great hiking, biking, canoeing, easy access to white water rafting. Beautiful grist mill. Lots of wildlife. Imagine evenings by the fire.

Log Cottage: Cabins at ACE Adventure Center

We stay here atleast once a year but after rafting I am sure I will be coming up once a month.
Very cozy accomodations! Clean, comfortable and a very reasonable price. We have stayed in most of their cabins but I really liked the Cottages (stayed there the last time) the most.
They are pretty new and layed out great!

This place was the best. Isolated log cabins with the comforts of home and then some. We wished we had stayed there longer. If you need to get away for some romantic downtime, this is the place!

Log cabin on two acres, fireplace, washer & dryer, basic kitchen supplies. Great views of mountains, fall colors.

Days Inn: Elkins

Really quiet, clean, solid place. Coffee shop was great for breakfast, good food, quick and friendly service. I would recommend this place if you are staying in Elkins.

West Virginia has a wonderful state park system, and many of the state parks have nice hotels and cabins. You will find the accommodations comfortable, clean and grounds that are well-kept.

Embassy Suits of Charleston, WV
I am thinking around $75.00 or more but you get your moneys worth with huge rooms and beds very comfortable. The service in the hotel is superb having excellent services inside the building. Also in the building is a sports bar with large screen TV's and a full stocked bar. Also has huge meeting rooms and a small gift shop to make your stay that much better.

This place has it all: close to the Town Center Mall, right in the heart of downtown, and close enough to the interstate that you can jump back on without getting lost. The hotel also has a wonderful breakfast which comes with the room served in the indoor forest of green. Also has an excerise room and pool and a great thing the internet on the TV's! hehe

Yokums Vacationland, in Seneca...

Yokums Vacationland, in Seneca Rocks, WV,is a great campground. It's situated under Seneca Rocks, along the river. Great place for fishing, just walk out your camper door and your beside the river bed. The river is shallow, you can walk across it all the way. Wonderful trout, even golden trout, inhabit the river. Great view of the rock face from your campsite where you can watch the rock climbers scaling the face.
The campground costs $15 a night for 3 people in an RV. Not sure about the motel and cabins, however.

They have an indoor pool at the motel above the campground that is free for use if you camp there. Motel and cabins are available for rent also.

Always stayed with family!!! That's been the best place I've could have been!!! Maybe I'll do some camping there soon!

Well, my family has moved a few times down there. I remember when we had to use an outhouse and there was no running water and we used the creek to bath in! I thought it was terrible at first and now as I've done alot of adventure travel. Boy, now I think back and say: Hey, they have it all!!!! Wow! How your perspective changes! Just to let everyone know...Alot has changed in 35 years in West Virginia! Check it out. Please!!!!
