The bridge has lost it's title of "longest steel-arch bridge in the world" to a new one in Shanghai!

The link below has a lot of the construction details.
Huntington, West Virginia
by mikelisaanna
Huntington is a small city of 50,000 people located along the Ohio river in the southwestern potion of West Virginia, near the point where the borders of West VIrgina, Ohio, and Kentucky all meet. Huntington is the home of Marshall University, one of the two main universities in West Virginia.
We were just in Huntington for a day, and did not see the central portion of the city. We did, however, did visit its surprisingly good art museum, one of the best small city museums that we have seen. Another sight to see in Huntington is its rose garden, which was in beautiful full bloom when we were there in late May.
St Joseph Invitational Tournament Worth The Trip
by MMI_Travels
"SJI Is Exciting Time For All Involved"
MMI traveled to Huntington twice towrds the end of January, 2005 to participate in the St Joseph Invitational Tournament. This tournament has been running for 28 years and is an annual staple in the town.
The event is hosted at the Veteran's Memorial Fieldhouse. The building is obviously outdated but it is an ideal setting for a tournament such as this one.
In addition to basketball, there is a cheerleading competition and skits in between games. It seems like the whole community gets involved.
On the sport's side we won our first game against Williamson by a score of 91-79. This was an excellent game and earned us a place in the Championship game.
We returned two days later to face the tournament hosts, St Joseph. After a scrappy game we emerged as victors, 54-45, and took home the Championship trophy. A great end to a great week.
