very nice location

This Holiday Inn was in the right location at the right time. We had been driving most of the day and had not stopped for lunch, so we were tired and hungry and the heat made you feel really gritty. And right there at exit 39 of I-64 was a motel and food sign.

We got lucky and turned north and found the motel right away.
The staff had no problem getting us a two-bed, no-smoking room on the backside of the motel away from the street sounds. The cost was about $80 AAA rate. It included the room, with unlimited phone and continental breakfast.

The room was clean and relatively newish with regrouting around the tub and a faucet on the sink that was a replacement slightly different from the tub fixtures. Everything worked well and the furniture was in good condition but you could tell that it was not brand new. The most important things were that the room smelled clean and the linens were all fresh too.
The room came equipped with TV and clock, hair dryer and ironing equipment and a two-cup coffee maker. Optional equipment we could have had at extra cost were a safe, a microwave and a small refrigerator. We did not get those and so we had a lot of space in the room.

The continental breakfast was surprisingly good and they offered scambled eggs and waffles along with the cold cereal, fruits, juices, coffee, toast and danish and muffins. Having that meal saves having to go out and find a breakfast spot and waiting to get served.

There was a mall and restaurant right down the street so we had a quick shower when we arrived and then headed out to get some food and let my wife get in some shopping.
