A Pretty Town on the South Shore of Lake Superior

I passed through Bayfield, WI whilst on a "mini-trip" down WI 13. Bayfield is a pretty town with steep streets, much like a miniature Duluth. The town of about 500 residents was absolutely filled with tourists when I was there - part of the reason may have been not just the city's scenic beauty, but the ferry to Mackinac Island (never been there). On my visit, I exited to walk around and take a few pictures - supper time was nearing so I considered stopping for some food, but I thought prices might be a bit less touristic down the road in Ashland.

Bayfield is a quaint little town which is the natural jumping off point for trips into the Apostle Islands. We went on a 3 day kayaking trip through the islands which was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this trip.
