Four of us are planning a trip to Eau Claire in July to spend Friday June 21st at Country Jam. We have hotel reservations through Sunday. Is there anything/place in particular we don't want to miss while we are there? We will be free all day Saturday for touring, etc.
A little city about 20 minutes south on I-90 is Osseo. There's a place there that makes the best pies in the world. Seriously. It's called Norske Nook. You must go.
The owner, an old Norwegian woman was invited to appear on David Letterman, and make her pies. She did, but complained about the dairy products in NYC not being as rich as teh ones in Wisco, and thus they turned out not so good that night.
But do go. Go south, turn right off the interstate from O'Claire. go about 2 miles and once you go past the water tower, turn left, go 2 more blocks turn left again and park--and you'll see it. It's a small town.
Also the Leinenkugels Brewery gives tours. It's in Chippewa Falls. Great beer.
