Stay at Wisconsin's Deepest Lake
by Maneaba about The Heidle House Hotel and Timeshares
From May 16-23 2009 I stayed at the Heidle House in Green Lake Wisconsin
which a combination of a Timeshare and Hotel services
It is set in in the romantic setting of Green Lake and a lot of marriages are performed here
as well young couples coming for their honeymoons
The day I got there I noted a wedding behind the Gray Rock Restaurant
facing the lake.
I highly recommend this place as a romantic getaway.
however the room rates vary depending on what you want
Room rates run from:
$ 99.00 [standard room - most economical] $329.00 [2 Bedroom Suite - most expensive ] Jan 01 - Apr 1
$150.00 $509.00 May 01 - June 30
$200.00 $609.00 Jul 01 - Aug 31
$150.00 $509.00 Sep 01 - Oct 31
$ 99.00 $329.00 Nov 01 - Dec 30 The Sunroom Restaurant at the Heidle House has a great view of the lake
and the Gray Rock Restaurant next door to the main hotel which is part of the Heidle house
is a great place to eat if you have some money to spend being that it's a 5 star restaurant
There is also water sports in the summer and boat tour around the lake.
There is an indoor swimming pool and a nature walk called the Heidle hike.

Cousin's Weekend
by Stacylh
Wondering if anyone recommends a location? My cousins along with girlfriends/boyfriends would like to take a weekend getaway in Wisconsin. We have 6 couples total so we are looking for a home or large cabin/cottage to rent. Preferably with a hottub and fire pit. Anybody out there know of such a place. We'd be going in March.

Door County is nice .. haven't been there in winter, but I imagine it's picturesque then as well. But sorry, I can't remember any lodging info.

We have been to Bayfield and the Apostle Islands,...really neat place,..right next to Lake Superior. Bayfield is in the NW corner of the state, about 90 miles from Duluth, MN on the shoreline. You might want to take a look at going to Lutsen instead. Lutsen is north of Duluth, MN and it is very scenic. Lutsen is a ski lodge that can accomodate a group your size. I am sure if you got online, you could find some real neat places in NW Wisconsin. Door County is also a really neat area, very antique oriented. Door County is East of Green Bay or North of Milwaukee.

The Heidel House in Green Lake is a nice resort, especially for couples getting together. There may also be some places to rent. If you go to the Green Lake Chamber of Commerce site, there are listings. Door County is a very popular spot. Lake Geneva is also nice, and so is Fontana, which is near Lake Geneva. The LaCrosse area is beautiful, with its bluffs along the Mississippi. If you are looking for snow, then try the Rhinelander/Eagle River area, to the north.

Your answer/s sort of depend on what you'd like to do.
I live in Wisconsin and know most of the state pretty well.
If you are just looking for a laid-back "hole up in a cozy cabin" type of atmosphere, there are plenty of cottages
and cabins for rent in small towns like Chetek and
Rice Lake. (Google search should provide you with specifics) If you plan on trying some nightlife at night,
you may want to be closer to Milwaukee or Madison.
A lot of cities also have Indian Casino's nearby, but I'd stay away from them. Seems like most of the slights
are money pits. Weather is really unpredictable in March, so you might have mild weather or get snowed in, depending on this winter. That could change your plans too, depending on what happens. Try ince fishing!!!! Fun, if you want something different.
