The White Lace Inn: The White Lace Inn

$159 USD

The price was fairly high when we stayed ($150, but ranges from $58 to $229).
There were no other facilities there at the property.

No great views, but the place is very romantic.

The White Lace Inn is a beautiful and fantastic B&B. It consists of three restored Victorian homes, with whirlpools in one home and fireplaces in another and whirlpools and fireplaces in the third. They serve a wonderful breakfast and delightful warm drinks in the evening.

It caters mainly to couples.

None of the rooms have phones! What a blessing!

No pets or smoking is allowed.

Just a nice hotel, kind of near things (like if you're interested in the outlet mall across the street)

I stayed at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire's Tower Hall. It left a lot to be desired, better than sleeping in a tent! The doorm is seen in the picture below.

My room did overlook a river!

The InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel

A few years ago, I spent a weekend in Milwaukee and splurged by staying at what is now the InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel (formerly the Wyndham Hotel). In my opinion, it is the best hotel in Milwaukee, with elegant rooms and impeccable service.

The ten-story hotel was recently acquired by the Intercontinental Hotel group and underwent an extensive renovation in 2006. The InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel offers 221 rooms and 16 suites.

The InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel contains the Kil@Wat, a full-service restaurant specializing in Midwest cuisine. The Zen Den is a lounge which provides a relaxing place to have a drink after a day of sightseeing. Finally, the CLEAR Lounge offers drinks, snacks, and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings.

There are many camp grounds in Wisconsin. Find a camp site by a lake on a warm moonlit night and enjoy the reflection of the full moon on the lake.

Holiday Inn-Harbor View !!!: Nice Hotel !!!

The Holiday Inn-Harbor View is a great place to stay. They have a resturant & lounge called the Rusty Anchor. You can walk to your charter boat.

Staying here you can walk any place you want to go. There is bars & resturant's within two blocks of the hotel.

The Heidle House Hotel and Timeshares: Stay at Wisconsin's Deepest Lake

From May 16-23 2009 I stayed at the Heidle House in Green Lake Wisconsin
which a combination of a Timeshare and Hotel services
It is set in in the romantic setting of Green Lake and a lot of marriages are performed here
as well young couples coming for their honeymoons
The day I got there I noted a wedding behind the Gray Rock Restaurant
facing the lake.
I highly recommend this place as a romantic getaway.
however the room rates vary depending on what you want
Room rates run from:
$ 99.00 [standard room - most economical] $329.00 [2 Bedroom Suite - most expensive ] Jan 01 - Apr 1
$150.00 $509.00 May 01 - June 30
$200.00 $609.00 Jul 01 - Aug 31
$150.00 $509.00 Sep 01 - Oct 31
$ 99.00 $329.00 Nov 01 - Dec 30

The Sunroom Restaurant at the Heidle House has a great view of the lake
and the Gray Rock Restaurant next door to the main hotel which is part of the Heidle house
is a great place to eat if you have some money to spend being that it's a 5 star restaurant
There is also water sports in the summer and boat tour around the lake.
There is an indoor swimming pool and a nature walk called the Heidle hike.

Old Maritime Inn: Best Western Manitowoc Wi

The BW on the lake shore is not up to par with other better hotels in the town of Manitowoc. The Room is clean but in ours we could not open the window without letting all the bug in, no window screens. The AC was very loud and old. The bathroom is very small and NOT multi task able. No mini-bar. Our view was looking over the river entrance at the S.S. Badger Car Ferry, really impressive! and the city sewage plant (yummy).

I would not recommend this hotel, unless you get a great Senior (or other) discount

Pool is nice nad clean but too warm and in direct view of the hotel lobby. TV (Cable) is good or catching up on the latest ballgame scores

Isaac Wing House: Historic means old

Very disappointed in the care of the house. It was not kept up well as stated in advertisments. The ammenities were not there. It was smokey, the wastebaskets were not emptied, bed not made, no clean towels, coffee or tea not available, and it was noisy. The owner was on premises but seemed uninterested in guests and spent her time partying.

Close to town.

Telemark Resort: One of Northern Wisconsin's Best Resorts

From July 8-15th 2007
I stayed at the Telemark Resort near Cable Wisconsin
in southern Bayfield County.

During the Summer the Telemark Resort is used for hiking, mountain biking, swimming
and during the winter it is used as a cross country ski resort

The resort built in the 1970s on the slopes of Mount Telemark
and contains a hotel, timeshare and even private condominium ownship
for those that frequent the resort every year.

The town of Cable has a small airfield for private planes for those that want to fly into the resort which is conveniently right next door to the resort.
I would give Telemark a 5 star rating.

The Telemark Resort has a good set of hiking trails going up to the top of Mount Telemark
an indoor and outdoor pool with jacuzzi bathtubs in the timeshare rooms

State Campgrounds in Wisconsin...

State Campgrounds in Wisconsin are wonderful! Big Bay State Park on Madeline Island has many nice spots. Rock Island State Park is also fine, although you must create your own sponge bath - no showers! The scenery cannot be beat for peaceful lakeside camping.
$13.00 US

Lovely views, proximity to freshwater swimming beaches, primitive to not-so-primitive sites. In both cases, you must have a boat or pay ferry fee to get to island.

SUPER 8: "Always a Super8 to be found...."

This is the first place we stopped at for our first nights sleep in the USA.
After a long flight, then drive South for quite a while (until my eyes were closing....) we had to stop.

This is a fairly basic place to stay, no frills at all. It feels like one of the early Super8`s that needs to be modernised.
The cleanliness was not up to scratch, but, when you need sleep............who cares !!!
The lad behind the desk was very good & gave me a discount when he found I was from the UK.
Continental breakfast is supplied, but you have to get up early before it`s all gone.

The Park Inn Plaza is a nice place to stay and quite cheap. Clean and a nice breakfast that is free.
Depending on the time of year, your looking at 43.00 in winter and 82.00 fall

Happy hour gets you 1 drink free with every one you order. This can get dangerous. Nice breakfast but the rest of the food at the Arazona's restaurant is not great.

AmerInn (I think it was called). I satyed at the one in Burlington for a week and it was excellent.
I think it cost around $70 or $80 per night. It was well worth it.

Fantastic breakfast in the lobby, nice indoor pool, and the most wonderful employees.
