In 1997 I traveled on the Empire Builder from Seattle, Washinton to La Crosse, Wisconsin. It was interesting to see the country, but I sat in coach and sat up all night. Or at least tried to sleep. It was not a good thing for me. The next time I travel by train for a long period of time, I want a flat place to sleep. The purpose of this trip was to go to Iowa to attend a 50th wedding anniversary.
Likewise, I took the Empire Builder from La Crosse, Wisconsin to Seattle. I didn't sleep any better coming back than I did on the trip going.
