University of Wisconsin is a very large school... you could spend hours walking around looking at their parks and monuments. They have a long and rich history filled with famous names and all kinds of architecture. They also seem to enjoy a reputation as a party school. :-) One of the coolest student unions ever is on the UW campus - it has a plaza overlooking the lake, large dining area... and believe it or not, a Rathskellers pub built in to it too! As you can see from the engineering building picture, the weather wasn't exactly cooperating too much with building photography that day, but I'm not complaining because we were lucky to not get drenched during the game we attended. :-)
All things golf at Vitense Golfland

If you enjoy golf, definitely come to Vitense Golfland when in Madison. It isn't called Golfland for nothing, there are numerous Golfing activities to do here. There are expansive golf range areas that is one of the nation's top 100 rated golf ranges. Vitense Golfland also has two miniature golf courses and a 9-hole par 3 course. It also offers a golf proshop, golf lessons, and golf leagues. Within the vicinity there are also batting cages, water wars area, climbing wall and hiball facilities. The place is PACKED on spring/summer/early fall weekends so make sure you come in early or even late. It closes at 11pm on summer nights.

Spring Green, Wisconsin- highlights in and around this neat artistic community include Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin estate, outdoor productions of Shakespeare (and other classics) at American Players Theater, and the infamous garish House on the Rock (still fun to see). I saw a production of Hamlet at the Spring Green theater, in the middle of the woods under a warm summer night sky... pretty amazing!

Athenian Gardens is one of the food carts set up on State Street Mall. They have delicious Greek Food. I loved it! Plus, it's quick and cheap. There are a lot of other food carts that set up on the mall that I haven't tried, but you should check them out. There's a some Chinese, Thai, Jamaican, etc... Something for everyone. Greek Gyro

We find ourselves choosing this restaurant more than once a week. They have delicious salads, especially Greek.
Theyre very accomodating about substitutions. My husband and I can make a meal out of just one of their Sierra Turkey sandwiches. Its delicious on whole grain. We can also make a meal out of their salads, sharing.
and Theyre amazingly fast! Pleasant decor. Busy, but not too hard to get a seat. sierra Turkey sand.
