I assume you are talking about the Amtrak station downtown. Right next to the station is not too much for them, but pretty close by is:
The Lakeshore (about 1 mile away)
----Fly a kite at Veteran's Park?
----Paddleboats
Betty Brinn Children's Museum (Other museums, too) less than 1 mile
Check the festival schedule, there are usually kid days (about 1 mile)(http://www.summerfest.com/otherevents/festivalparkcalendar.htm)
Maybe a boat cruise (depends)

The Amtrack station is about three blocks south of Wisconsin avenue. Your best bet would be just to catch a bus on Wisconsin Avenue and head east to the lakefront (approx a 10 min bus trip). On the lakefront they would have a ball.....the new Discovery World Museum, the Childrens Museum, Art Center and slightly north of the Art Center is a wonderful park with roller blade rentals, paddle boats etc.

Ok, so I've never seen the Brewers play at all, and I've only seen the Bucks play in Dallas against the Mavericks - Bucks lost! :o(... But they seem like fun teams (other than the Packers!) and I hope very much to see a home game next time I visit Wisconsin.

See Lake Michigan. You can view it from a park on a bluff or drive down Lake Drive (a rite of passage in my day when you first got your driver's license) or walk along the beach. The water is deep blue, there are gentle waves...and you can't see across to the other side (it's a BIG lake). My fondest memories of Milwaukee are sitting along the rocks on Lake Michigan on warm moonlit summer evenings. My friends and I would talk for hours, and if you sat on a particular promontory it felt like being on our own tropical island. I visit Milwaukee 1-3 times a year, and only once in my 19 years away have I not driven past the lake. It is my favorite place on the face of the Earth.

The Miller Mansion (1885)

by yooperprof

It's not associated with the "beer" Millers, but there's still an interesting story behind this East Side mansion (at 1060 E. Juneau, just off Prospect).

It was built in 1885 for Milwaukee department store owner Timothy Chapman, and stayed in the family for almost a century. His granddaughter, Isabelle Miller, was born in this house in 1891, and lived here for her entire 91 years, in 1980 dying in the same bed in which she was born.

It's a fine piece of Victorian domestic architecture - designed by August Fiedler, of Chicago.

Bar hopping

by pumpkin915

People in Milwaukee like to go from bar to bar on the weekend nights. Wisconsinites drink alot of beer! I guess everyone likes a change of scenery, but I think this is too much and besides getting drunk is very uncool.

Brewers

by pumpkin915

The Brewers are now in Miller Park which has a retractable dome and is still played on real grass. Even though the team is not good, it is still fun to watch a good old fashioned baseball game. It is very entertaining so pick a night and have fun.
