Americinn Of Minocqua

Pretty views, but not worth the visit

Minocqua is a dumpy place. Skip it. The Minocquabats (water ski show) was totally lame. Not worth watching, or wasting your valuable time.

Unless you fish, and are into the cabin, "I love the woods" -type of thing, skip it. If you must visit Wisconsin, go to Lake Geneva instead, or Sheboygan. At least these areas are more civilized. Leaving after one day, and heading home.

Go to the Min-Aqua-Bats water...

Go to the Min-Aqua-Bats water ski show, and eat at Paul Bunyan's, then pet the animals at Wildwood animal Park. There are TONS of lakes to swim at in the summer, and plenty of authorized and unauthorized trails to mountian bike on- these are things that I miss.

so minocqua is where im from. it is a tourist trap town way up in the northwoods of wisconsin. if you like to hike, fish, water ski, x-country ski, mt bike, swim, canoe, raft, hunt, snowmobile, ice fish, scuba dive, or pick berries in the woods. then up here you can do it. We have alot of alcohol too if you like to have drinks while you do any of the above intoxicated. alot of people do ....but i don't recommend snowmobiles or boating drunk. thats just not cool.

Moving to the Northwoods,year round, has been a wonderful experience. The winters are spectacular, guiet, and serene. Wildlife are always making visits to my house. Animals and birds you don't see as much of in the summer seem to stand out in the winter. Fun to check thier tracks in the snow and see who has been there.

lake house getaway

My friend Andy's parents have a lake house up here, so we make the trip up from Milwaukee once in a while for a long weekend of fishing, boating, drinking, games and just hanging out. It's pretty cool up there, and there are tons of lakes to play on, but we really just hang out at the cabin and play many a round of cribbage and drink lots of Leinenkugel.
