Travel Tips for New Berlin
The highest point in Waukesha County

Okay, the highest point in Waukesha County is not very high (something like 1,200 feet). This is a very nice, easy 2.5 mile round trip hike to Lapham Peak. It is very pretty with a rolling landscape marked by kettles (because of glaciers during the retreat of the ice age) and lots of oak trees.
I went with my brother (in photo at the top of the lookout tower) and parents one August afternoon I was back in town. In winter people come here for X country skiing.
Here is some cool history: Increase Lapham, regarded as the father of the National Weather Bureau, established a signal station on top of the hill to help relay meteorologic information.
Details: All vehicles must have a state park admission sticker. These stickers are available at the contact booth near the park entrance.
It is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.spring, summer, and fall and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the winter. sport shoes

I suppose if you are desperately craving local sports you could go to a High School game. New Berlin West and New Berlin Eisenhower are the local High Schools. Great schools, by the way, safe, good teachers, good life preparation.

For a weekend afternoon diversion, you could head up to Malone Park (On national Ave near Armeli's--check restuarants) to see if you can get a pick up game going. many times there are people floating around the courts, so it is probably one of the better places to get something going.

So, I went to grade school and high school in New Berlin. It's anice small town with not a lot of action going on. There is some night life and the city is growing, so I will try to lay out a few things to do for the traveler.
