50's Americana in the woods of WI
The Wisconsin Dells is an odd stop. Its full of amusement parks and is the self-proclaimed capital of water rides. There is no shortage of places to keep kids entertained for days, as long as your wallet has funds to keep them happy and fed.
But the main streets of the Dells has a retro 50's feel to it. The buildings are mostly 1-2 floors, with wide streets and classic neon signs. It was a popular stopping point on the old US-12 between Minneapolis and Chicago.
If you get here, take a tour on the "Original Ducks", the WWII amphibious rides. Its by far the best tour of the river available.
