Young couple looking for thrills

by chigirl24

So, we don't have any kids to worry about, but he loves waterparks with a lot of slides. It seems like most of these spots are custom-made for those with toddlers. Does anyone have any suggestions for a resort/hotel/anything that is appropriate for a couple twenty-somethings on a weekend trip?

Most of the hotels I'm finding feature two-three beds with only luxury-suite 1 bed-rooms. I'm trying to find something that is beautiful but fun- I know the Dells are popular for their natural beauty and all the waterparks, I'm just trying to find the right mix.

I just don't want to end up at somewhere with endless pavement, shallow kiddie pools and sky high prices. Help!

We're going in late August so I'm trying to book a room before they're all taken.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I only stayed at a hotel once up there, in winter. If I were you I'd stay at a cheaper place, and then just go to Noahs Ark separately or wherever you're going. A few do have their own waterparks, but they are pretty fancy from what I can tell and those are mde for families and the price shows it. We stayed at Treasure Island and they really only had about 4 slides indoors, got old fast.
Dells isn't that big, so anywhere there and you'll be ok and in driving distance of wherever you're going. It shouldn't be that hard to get one in late August...the later it is the easier it is.

What is there to say about Wisconsin Dells?

by kahunaaccidentale

I'd probably have to recommend, for starters, the Dells Boat Tours; after all, they happen to be the raison d'etre for Wisconsin Dells' being there in the first place.

That, and the Wisconsin Ducks, if only for the cornyness of the narration. That's a tough question there....

Storybook Gardens & Park

by AVG2319

Storybook garden has been around since the 1950's and I took our daughter here so that I could relive my own childhood. The park is neat I remember the school house and the pink and purple house on storybook lane. They added animals to the park and my daughter enjoyed feeding the goats, cows, and giraffes. Originally the park was a garden with fairy tale buildings and statues such as humpty dumpty and Cinderella, Jack Be Nimble. There is a short train ride on the hour that you can take if you veer right as you exit the little store.

A Giant Tourist Trap - But in a Good Way!

by mwenn2100

Even though this whole area really is one big tourist trap, it does hold a special place in my heart. Every summer when I was a kid we'd take a family vacation to Wisconsin Dells. It was THE place to go as a kid growing up in Wisconsin!

Although I can't say that I would actually travel from a far away place to see Wisconsin Dells (although I know people who have), it is a cheesy fun place to visit if you're ever in Wisconsin. Things are constantly changing here, becoming bigger and better and cheesier...
