The Dells Boat Tours
by kahunaaccidentale
If there's one "must-see" activity that I'd have to recommend for any Wisconsin Dells visitor, it would have to be the Dells Boat Tours, both Upper and Lower.
After all, they happen to be the reason that Wisconsin Dells became as popular as it was in the first place.
Even before the waterparks came along.
Allow about 2-1/2 hours for the Upper Dells tour (with shore calls at Witch's Gulch and Stand Rock) and an hour for the Lower Dells such.

Wisconsin Dells

Wisconsin Dells is without a doubt one of the most visited areas in the central USA. Some call it Chicago's summer playground. While there is definitely natural beauty to be viewed, it's not exactly where you want to go for solitude and quiet communing with nature. The town itself abounds in activities, as well as the ubiquitous curio shops, t-shirt emporiums, fast food diners, etc. We didn't stay but a couple of days, but most of that was spent relaxing - well away from the bustle.
