Luxury Hotel

by written on March 5, 2011

The Cody Hotel advertises itself as Luxury Lodging in the Heart of the American West. When I checked it out, I was quite impressed with the decor and amenities. Located along what we in Cody call the West Cody Strip, this 100% non-smoking accommodation is less than one mile from Old Trail Town and the Rodeo, as well as convenient to the downtown and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, which is about 2 miles from the hotel. This is a green friendly hotel in its construction, and in its recycling program. The rooms are attractive, and all rooms offer luxuries such as feather pillows and comforters, flat screen TV’s, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer, high-speed Internet access, complimentary newspaper, bathrobes, blackout drapes, bathroom scales (just in case you want to know how much weight you have gained while on vacation), bathroom telephones (for those of you who love to sit on the commode, while talking to friends and business associates), clock/radio with an iPod docking station, DVD player, in-room safes, iron & ironing board, refrigerator, microwave, and oversized towels.

You will have three types of suites to choose from. The standard, (called Premier suites) have a choice of either one King sized bed, or two queen sized beds. The Deluxe Suites offer all of the standard amenities, plus a patio or balcony. The Jacuzzi King Suite features one King sized bed, the Deluxe Suite amenities, plus a jetted tub. There are also pet friendly rooms available,

Be aware, that the hotel advertises that it is in a convenient location just 45 minutes from Yellowstone National Park. BUT please do not make The Cody your home base for Yellowstone, stay here only to visit Cody and it's surrounding area. The park is about 50 miles from Cody, and once there, you have a lot of driving to visit the various sites. You can’t see everything in a day, so don’t even try.

Unique Quality: Within the accommodation you will find a small, attractive dining area where in the morning you will be served coffee, and a complimentary breakfast. Complimentary refreshments are also served in the lobby in the evenings, where you may enjoy the sound of live piano music. Or maybe you would enjoy a dip in their indoor swimming pool, relaxing in the hot tub, or just relax by the fireplace. If you don’t wish to relax, maybe you would like to spend time in their fitness room.

The hotel has space for special events such as business meetings, reunions, or weddings, etc. You may choose from a space that will seat up to 100 people, or a smaller, more intimate area for your event.

The Cody also offers free airport transportation in the event that you are flying into or out of the Cody airport.

Directions: Located near the rodeo grounds, along US14/US16, the highway that will take you to/from Yellowstone National Park.
