Colorado!
It must sound silly, but I love those State signs. Now I can say : `Another state I have been to`. This is stupid of course because we just drove through a tiny little bit of Colorado, along the Utah border.

This was my story about my visit to Monument Valley. I hoped you enjoyed reading it! This page is part of my roundtrip through the USA. We made an awesome trip through the Western part of the USA. Take a look at my USA page to read about the rest of this roundtrip.
I devided this travelstory into several chapters here is a link to my previous and next chapter:
Previous chapter :part 12 Arches National Park
Next chapter : part 14 Jackson
Another classic car is this 1937 Buick Indy Racer. It was fun to see these old cars actually driving instead of just seeing them in some museum. I guess that is why I enjoyed looking at the Great race so much.
This was taken last Thursday when I was in Green River, Wyoming. I haven't much to add about this city other than the fact that it is very far away from anything and was a rest stop for me on my very long road trip from San Francisco, California to Des Moines, Iowa.
I escorted my father to Des Moines because he was relocating to Des Moines to retire. To get to Des Moines from San Francisco, we left Wednesday at 10am and by 7pm, we were in Elko, Nevada.
At 5:30am, Thursday, we left Elko and by 10:00am or so, were in Salt Lake City. From Salt Lake City we continued on Highway 80 through the Rockies past the red rock mountains of Park City still covered in Snow. Still snowing drying flakes.
80 passes from West to East about 160 miles of Utah's northern region prior to reaching the southern portion of Wyoming. By 1pm or so, we were here in Green River after having stopped in Little America, Wyoming. A city named after a hotel chain.
The people in Green River, those I encountered at a local fast food place called "the Arctic Circle" were amiable and gently reserved.
The Southern 401 miles from West to East are dull, brown, grey, overcast and occasionally snowing in the low pressure areas even in May. Although cold, the snow was too dry to stick to the ground meaning that in 5 hours, you can easily make it to Nebraska.
It's day 15 of our roundtrip...
We have 2 long days ahead of us, and a lot of kilometers to drive. We're leaving Moab early in the morning and head for Wyoming (I really want to go to Yellowstone National Park!) It is a very long drive and we decide to make our way to Jackson Hole (Wyoming) in two days.
In this chapter I will show you some pictures of our roadtrip through Colorado. We stay the night near the town of Green River. We were in luck : the "Great Race" stopped in Green River on the day we were there. So I have added some pictures of the "Great Race" too.
