My Great Grandfather Charlie's Moose: Charlie the Moose

by Got_Snow

My Great Grandfather, Charlie, shot this moose at the ranch over 50 years ago. The mount is a tribute to him. "Charlie the Moose" is in Moose, our recreation cabin. Billiards, ping pong, a library of books, piano, and other games are all for guests and friends to use. This cabin was one of the original Tie Hack cabins in the late 1800-early 1900's.

The ranch in the winter: Wintertime in Dubois, Wyoming

by Got_Snow

Here is the ranch in the wintertime. My family and I use the ranch for private use in the winter. It is only accesible by cross country skiing or snowmobiling. One day, I would like to start business in the winter. Such a beautiful place.

Dubois - Branding Iron Inn: Log-Cabin motel

by 78Eva

On a road trip through Wyoming, I stayed at the Branding Iron Inn in Dubois, Wyoming. It's about an hour away from the Yellowstone Park. I really enjoyed staying there. It was 40 $ for two people, it was clean and pretty and the owners were very nice and helpful. The town is small and pretty, looks like a Western town, all wood, and you can get a great breakfast at the Cowboy Cafe.

the fun thing about the motel was that every room was a log-cabin. It have you the feeling of a whole different time and era, but it wasn't primitive or cold or anything.

Ramshorn Guest Ranch: Wyoming's Best Accomodation

by Got_Snow

Rustic, your own pace type of place, get away from the everyday rush of life.

Mountains, wildlife, mountain biking, fishing, photography, great artist getaway, hiking, reading, or just plain relaxin' in the West.

Best accomodation and vacation in Wyoming: Ramshorn Guest Ranch

by Got_Snow

If you want an authentic Western Vacation close to Yellowstone National park and the Wind River Indian Reservation, then the Ramshorn Guest Ranch is the place to stay! I mean, just look at that scenery!

If you are interested in this accomodation, just contact me via Virtual Tourist email.

Self catered, kitchenettes in all cabins, a plethora of activities, and the price is dirt cheap.

Saratoga Inn: Wyoming Romantic Hideaway!

by DJStarr

The Saratoga Hot Springs aren't much to rave about, but the Saratoga Inn is! Their pool is fed by the springs, along with a gorgeous rustic lodge to relax for a weekend.

Private tipis over hot springs pools are in back by the pool. The outdoor fireplace on the back lodge porch is great year round! Big wicker chairs, flagstone hearth and heavy blankets---a glass of Merlot or "spiced" hot cocoa---mmmm......

Very modest accomodation

by Pawtuxet

The early settlers set up shop out in the middle of absolutely NOTHING. How these people chose this exposed location is beyond me. One would think they would use the protection of the mountain on one side, but no. This cabin was the only thing sitting in the middle of this enormous saucer of land...ringed with the Teton Mountains.
Always a great sky.
BTW...one side of the cabin was for folks to eat and sleep...while the other half of the cabin was for their livestock to take shelter. Must have smelled great. Like the commercial says.... "this is a good place for a stick up!" (referring to room deodorizers.)

Motels - what else

by KaiM

Even in the sparsely populated Cowboy State with its small wild-west towns motels stretch along the highway. My suggestion (as always): Motel 6. Or Super 8 Motel. During summertime find a campground in one of the state parks or at Yellowstone.
