SHOOT OUT AT THE TOWN SQUARE
by travelgourmet
Okay! You want the wild west without the pain. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is the place to go. Don't know if it is a daily affair, but the day I was shopping in the Town Square area, a crowd was beginning to gather on the South-East side of the Square.
To my surprise, as I strolled through the Town Square park, I came upon several men wearing cowboy hats and they were strapped for pure danger. Yep, them thar were the bad-uns, the gunslingers, wait'in on the marshall to have a shoot-out, old west style. Of course, this is only acting, but it scared the be-geebers out of this tenderfoot. I moseyed on over to the corner and picked my spot. I was ready for action.
Well, I'm tell'in you, they came in from the side, a yell'in and whoop'in it up, asking for the marshall to show his gumption. Well, the dance hall ladies were a sing'in and a danc'in, having a good ole time. Then a loud boom from a shot-gun starting the free-for-all. Whew, it was enough to get a man to sweat'in. Don't miss it if you get the chance. A wild west shoot-out just for the tourists. Corny? Well, that's up to you. Get in the spirit, and enjoy. See my street singing, gunslinging video to get you in the spirit of the old west.
If Y'ain't Got 68 Bucks to Spend on Skiing...

Most people associate the town of Jackson with the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, which is actually a 15 minute drive from town. Most skiers and snowboarders come out here to ski the Mountain Resort and overlook the smaller hill that sits right in Jackson.
Snowking is the ski hill that watches over Jackson. It was actually Wyoming's first ski area and it probably hasn't made too many upgrades since its conception in 1939. Despite slow lifts and relatively short runs, Snowking is a steep hill and it's northfacing aspect assures firm snow pack most of the season. Furthermore, the hill also has night skiing until 8 pm, if you haven't gotten your fix for the day at Jackson Hole. So, if you hate long powder runs, efficient lifts, and corporations, bypass Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and head for the icy steeps of Snowking Resort. You can rent equipment from a number of shops in the town of Jackson. A few places sell flasks as well, essential for staying warm during frigid Wyoming winters.
Why this photo ?

I have taken a number of photos of fancy trucks with their special look. At first, I felt that this photo was one of these, with the truck parked close to a log cabin. However, what puzzled me was that the truck was rather plain and not so much fancy. Then, why did I take this picture ?
