Like so many of the other positive reviews on this motel, we were very pleased with our stay at the Wagon Wheel. Our room was clean, comfortable and so quiet. We all got a great night's sleep. The staff was friendly. And it's an easy walk into the main part of town and right across from the visitor's center. Would definately stay here again.
This year was our mountain vacation and we were not pleased at all with our rooms. Although we don't go for luxury, we do expect the places that we stay to be big enough for four people and be clean.
There was absolutely no storage space and we had to leave all of our clothes in our suitcases the entire time we were there (4 nights / 5 days). We were constantly bumping into each other, the beds or the small desk that was in the room.
Rooms were not cleaned well and one evening after arriving back from the mountains, we didn't have pillows on the beds.
The walls were so thin that we could hear every conversation that our neighbors were having. The room was way over priced for what you get and we will definately not stay there again.
The only thing that we enjoyed was the food and visiting the National Parks.
Our neighbors recommended this place. We like to stay in a unique place at least once while we travel on our road trips. On this trip this place was their favorite. They liked the log cabin feel and it was clean and was within walking distance to just about everywhere in town. Their Route 89 restaurant serves large protions and breakfast was great. Jackson Hole is a great place with great scenery everywhere you look. The Grand Tetons are just magnificient. I would definately return to this motel if we are in Jackson Hole again. I would recommend this motel.
Great experience, we loved it so much we stayed another night. Thank heavens someone canceled! The first night we stayed in two double queen rooms, one is a corner with the jetted tubs. The jetted tub was not worth it, very loud! Wish this place had a pool, it would be perfect. There is a canal creek behind the establishment for tubing and/or fishing for little ones. The second night, one family stayed in a single occupancy and the other in a two-bedroom style suite. Both rooms were in good condition, Very clean. Don't miss out on their restaurant which is a few feet away, excellent food, breakfast and dinner! If you like the cabin feel, you like this place. Very nice people.

Laying in a Snow Bank
I want to go to Jackson for my snow fix after Christmas. I'd like to explore Yellowstone in the winter. I'm having trouble locating activities from the south side of the park. Looks like the entrances are either from the north or west. I was interested in snowshoeing, maybe snowmobiling and finding out what other activities are available. I'm pretty sure there is not lodging in the park, but if there is, please let me know. THanks!

Always wanted to visit in the snow too!
There are links on the National Park page. There's a snowcoach that leaves from Flagg Ranch (near Jackson) and goes to the Old Faithful Snow Lodge. You can stay there, and rent snowshoes and cross country skis. I believe that the park service is now requiring guides to go with snowmobilers. It's probably not best to ride a snowmobile into the park. The buffalo follow the trails out of the park and the ranchers shoot them because of the brucellosis they carry. Save an animal, take the snowcoach.

Billy's: Great grub; fast service and convenient location; Mangy Moose: get's awesome bands; great apres ski - located perfectly at the bottom of the mountain. Billy's: Burger with waffle fries; Mangy Moose: Fat Tire Ale (you don't go here b/c of the food).
