Mad Carpenter B&B: A comfortable home

The Mad Carpenter is a strange name for a house, but when you see this place you'll start to appreciate how it got its name. Not only has the wooden house been lovingly restored by the owner, but there's plenty of fancy touches inside, all carved from wood.

We stayed in the Blossom room, which was small but with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in on my travels! It doesn't have a bathroom en suite (and therefore is a little cheaper than you might expect*), but there is a bathroom right next door for your exclusive use, which was very well stocked with toiletries and had both shower and tub.

*[we paid $85 for the double room and breakfast, so right at the bottom of the price range I've indicated]

Unique Quality: The breakfast was very good and we particularly enjoyed the zucchini cake (like carrot cake but with one obvious difference!) When we enthused about this, Danny packed up several slices for us to take away to have with our lunch later in the day!

University Inn: An ok motel

When we were in Laramie, WY, we stayed at the University Inn Motel. As the name reveals, it is right next to the University. You actually only have to cross the street to be on campus. The place was nothing special, we picked it because of the location since we wanted to have a look at the University. There was a TV in the room, a fridge, and the bathroom was actually not too nice. It costs 60$ a night for a double room, which was actually kind of expensive.
Since Laramie isn't very big in general, you might just as well stay in a nicer place and drive or walk over to the University. This place is ok, but nothing special.
