Ski Trip Extraordinaire

We chose the Snake River Lodge after careful research including reading reviews on Tripadvisor. Being that it was among the closest accomodations to the mountain put it in the big plus factor. The promise of luxury for the price I could afford sealed the deal. From our greeting at the door we knew we would be in for a grand time. The lobby was inviting yet definitely felt Wyoming. Carved creatures and western sculptures decorated the lobby. Check in was easy. Both double rooms we had were just big enough for two adults each. The beds soft with down covers and the bathroom spacious. I liked the speaker placed in the bathroom so you could still hear the T.V. A small perk, but that is what SRL did best, anticipated the small things to make your stay special. Other special aspects of the Lodge included the pleasant and helpful staff and the Avanyu Spa with seperate adult men's and women's floors with it's own jacuzzi. Their toiletries are the best. There are too many nice things about the spa to include here. The main pool and hot tubs were nice for socializing although the pool could have been a bit warmer. The ski concierge with boot warmers was most convenient, right next to the ski-in trail. Every slopeside hotel should have one. We ate dinner at the GameFish Restaurant and would recommend particularly the steak although everyone in our party enjoyed their entree.
In his January 26, 2004 comments here in Tripadvisor Bruce Grosbety, General Manager expressed their desire is to have every guest become their raving fans for the future. They have succeded with our group.

We just returned from our 6-day stay at this great find, which has lots of potential to be a great ski season get-away. We were pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous natural setting; quality of the rooms; overall furnishings; friendly and professional staff; and fabulous location (near great recreation and restaurants and shops)! We drove 14+ hours to get there and waited months for this highlight of our summer. We had 3 young kids in tow and found the staff to be very accomodating, eager to please, and knowledgeable. Our only two disappointments relate to (1) the spa services (way overpriced and unimpressive quality); and (2) the small size of the rooms (beautifully decorated with tasteful furniture, BUT too much furniture and not nearly enough space to even open our suitcases on the floor). The kids loved the natural river rock pool with waterfalls, and we all enjoyed the meadow-facing room that overlooks the horse ranch across the street.
Without reservation, I recommend a stay at this lodge, but I would not recommend any spa treatments and I would not recommend a mountain-facing room, which will likely offer views of the Four Seasons' parking lot.
P.S. The food at the near-by Four Seasons' restaurants was over-priced, unimaginative, and very inferior quality.
FABULOUS!

My husband and I just got back from a 6 day stay at the SRL. The stay was wonderful, getting there was another story. Unfortunately visibilty was low and we had to take a bus from Salt Lake City to Jackson, 9 hours! But once we got there is was great. The Conciege couln't have been more helpful with us trying to locate our bage. We started out in a regular room for 2 nights. We have pics if anyone is interested. I think this room was one grade abover the standard. We had plenty of room to open a suitcase and walk around. The bathroom was very spacious as well with marble counters, nice large closet. We were one of the lucky ones who got the price for 119 a night. Spectacular price from what we have read.
We did read the views were limited and we expected that. But our theory was we didn't care what the view was from the room because 10 steps out the door it's amazing! The only downer was the there was no yoga and the salon was looking for a stylist. I got a facial and it was probably one of the best facials ever. You do get a discount of 10%. I noticed that some people's reviews were upset about the prices, but come on you aren't getting serviced at the YMCA or TGF haircutters. The roices are rather comprabable to the other resorts.
After the first two days we were upgrading to the executive king/junior suite for the remainder of our stay. We had all our bags packed that morning early because of the snomobile ride through yellowstone. When we got back to the resort thatq night the concierge offered to upgrade us. At first we were a little unsure why because we paid only 149 for the junior suite. But we just got blessed! The room they upgraded us to was off property, but we had no problem with that because it was at the Crystal Springs, literally a minute walk away.
Our room was about a 1300 square foot condo, normally goes for about 1200-1400 a night! 2 fireplaces, AWESOME view, thermador fridge~full working kitchen, 2 huge flat screen tvs, full maid service, full dinign room, full use of spa and room service, HUGE BATHTUB...for two! It was amazing! We had a fabulous time and they couldn't have been nicer there!!!!
We ate at the SRL restaurant for dinner and it was marvelous! Over all a thumbs up for this resort. Just relax and have fun and you'll enjoy. Any questions about Jackson, Teton Village or any of the excursions let us know we did a lot.
