For Those of You Who Desire a Full Hook UP

We have never stayed in the Fishing Bridge RV Campground, but I wanted to mention it for those of you that want more hookups, as this is the only campground in Yellowstone that has water and sewer hook ups, however, as of 2010 there are no electric hook-ups. Electric hook-ups will become available, however, in 2011. (See my added note below, taken from the Xanterra website.) There are also no picnic tables or camp fire pits. This is for hard sided campers only, as this is heavy bear country. Hard sided only means that you cannot bring in any campers that have a fabric construction on the exterior walls. The sites are doublewide with a limited width for slide-outs, and a maximum length of 40 feet, and are back in only. Pay showers, coin laundry, a store, and a sanitary RV dump station are close by.

Make your reservations as far ahead of time as you possible can.

"Work is underway to upgrade the electrical hookups throughout the Fishing Bridge RV Park. For summer of 2011, there will be a limited number of sites available with 50 amp service along with the usual water and sewer hookups. The upgrade project will continue into 2012. Therefore, not all sites will have electricity in 2011, but will continue to have water and sewer hookups. Those sites without electricity will be offered at a discounted rate."

Unique Quality: A couple of my favorite short hikes are nearby, as well as Yellowstone Lake. Take a walk along the Lake shore, and if you enjoy bird watching, you may spot a number of interesting birds on the Lake. My photo shows you a lovely swan we spotted one morning. Photo 2 shows a pair of Trumpeter Swans on Yellowstone Lake. You can also easily visit Canyon and the West Thumb areas from here.
