Charming, spacious, inexpensive and clean

The Bisonte Palace is a small clean hotel of about a 3-4 star rating. It is centrally located and close to most of the tourist attractions. It is about a five-minute walk to the famous Florida pedestrian way with all its stores and attractions. The Bisonte Palace reminds me of what hotels were 40 years ago in Europe. The bellhops still wear the short-waisted jackets with the small circular hats. The desk clerks have the gray ties with the red stripes. My room had a queen bed, color TV, bar/fridge, air conditioning and even a bidet. More importantly it was very clean and the price was right at $38 (Aug/2004). A breakfast buffet was even included. Was it as nice as the nearby Marriott? No, but the difference in quality was not worth an additional $112 a night more. I have stayed there twice now with no complaints.

Unique Quality: Centrally located.

Free computer center for guests,.

Friendly staff.

Free breakfast buffet

One More Question! Art Hotel vs Bisonte Palace?

by jeana-r

Sorry -just one more question! Considering both hotels -I realize the Art is in a nicer and more interesting area, but not sure how far it is (walking distance?) to Plaza San Martin and the microcenter, where the tour bus is. Bisonte may lack the character of the Art, but is closer to Plaza San Martin.

Roughly how near/far are these areas -and is walking an option?

Thanks.Gracias.

Jeana

Hi,
Clearly, Bisonte Palace is closer to San Martin and just a short walk to there and the shopping along Florida. You can walk(I live closeby and walk this route all the time) from the Art Hotel to the center but it's a long walk(30min) but really very interesting. You can either walk through the neighborhoods with the small shops or you can walk up Sante Fe with more shopping. However, I would pick the hotel which you like the most, because it is a very short and cheap taxi ride from Art Hotel to the center.
Enjoy!!

its a 15min walking from one hotel to the other, assuming you are talking about the Bisonte in Paraguay street, cause i believe there's another one in Suipacha. As for the dinner times, some places for example in Puerto Madero are opened at 7:30pm
Have fun,
Mac

Taxis are reasonably so I would pick the Art Hotel (we were going to stay there until we switched to the Bobo) and then use a taxi to get to Plaza San Martin.
